2002 ALBARIÑO
Ibarra-Young Vineyard

Santa Ynez Valley

The 2002 Albariño was made from grapes grown organically on the Ibarra-Young Vineyard near the town of Los Olivos. The Albariño was harvested mid-September after a cool growing season. The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed, the must was settled overnight, then 75% of the juice was put into a small stainless steel tank to retain freshness, while 25% was put into neutral barrels for fermentation to add texture. After fermentation the wine was aged for six months then blended, filtered and bottled. The wine is 100% Albariño.

Medium bodied and rich on the palate, it has delicate floral aromas with pear, almond and mineral flavors that lead into a lively, crisp finish. Total production was 314 cases.
